Week 4
By Peng Xiangfeng (Sandy)
On Mar. 15, 2009, a local fisherman, who was worked on fishing for five years, was washing his tools and cleaning his boat on the seaside of Xidi District. The serious pollution including daily rubbish and chemicals has made life difficult for the fisherman. The seawater is practically “dead water,” according to a local saying. To make a living the fisherman have to take more risks and go farther out to sea using up more resources of time, equipment and fuel.
